McLEAN, Va. (AP) - Drivers in northern Virginia will confront a series of overnight road closures this week as work continues to add toll lanes to the Capital Beltway.

From Tuesday night through Saturday night, three lanes on I-495 both northbound and southbound will close in the vicinity of the overpass for the Washington and Old Dominion trail. The closures begin at 9:30 p.m. and will last through 5 a.m. on weekdays. After midnight, all lanes could close for up to 30 minutes at a time for bridge work.

During those closures, the I-66 ramps to northbound I-495 will also be closed, and motorists will be detoured to southbound lanes.

Also, beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday, the ramps connecting the inbound Dulles Toll Road to northbound I-495 will be closed.
