Passerby performs CPR on downed cyclist in Rock Creek Park

A woman is in critical condition at an area hospital after a passerby performed CPR on her at Rock Creek Park on Saturday morning, Park Police say.

Authorities say that the victim was riding her bike near Grove 1 Pierce Mill at about 7:30 a.m. when she apparently suffered a cardiac event.

A passerby saw the victim, notified EMS and then started CPR.

The cyclist is now breather on her own, but officials say that the her better prognosis was keyed by the good Samaritan's efforts.

Park Police are still looking for the person who performed CPR on the victim.
