Redskins invite fans to watch practices
With the NFL lockout over and football ready to gear up, the Washington Redskins are inviting fans to come out and watch them practice.
Starting Saturday, July 30, a total of 11 practices will be open to fans, highlighted by Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 6.
First, you’ll need to fill out a Training Camp Fan Invitation, which will be available on the Redskins website. Print the invitation and bring it with you when you visit Redskins Park.
Each of the practice sessions on the following days begin at 8:30 a.m.: July 30, August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 15.
Fan Appreciation Day, August 6, is scheduled for noon.
Parking lots will open approximately 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start of practice and gates will open one hour prior to the start of each practice.
The Redskins remind fans that there will be no bleachers on site. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during practice, overlooking the practice fields. Picnic tables will also be available.
Visitors can walk around designated areas outside the practice fields to watch their favorite players.
Disabled parking is available on site and, Redskins staff members will direct fans needing assistance. There will also be a seating area set aside for wheelchairs near the practice fields.
For security purposes, all bags brought in to Redskins Training Camp will be searched by team security.
The following items are prohibited: alcohol and illegal drugs, weapons, firearms, glass bottles, video cameras, and animals (except for certified guide dogs assisting disabled guests).
Snacks and drinks will be available for sale to fans on-site.
