Shawn Aschan found dead in friend's pool, no foul play suspected

STAFFORD, Va. (AP) — A Stafford man has died after he was found face down in a private pool.

Stafford County sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy tells The Free Lance-Star that no foul play is suspected.

Kennedy says 42-year-old Shawn Aschan was preparing to move with his family for job-related reasons and was staying with friends in North Stafford.

The home's residents found Aschan face down in the pool Monday evening. He was taken to Stafford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The body has been sent to the medical examiner's office in Richmond for an autopsy.
