Sonic to serve beer, wine at some of its restaurants
Some fast-food chains are planning to add alcoholic drinks to their menu.
Burger King was the first fast-food giant to introduce alcohol to their menu in a few cities last year. It debuted its whopper bars in Miami, Las Vegas and Kansas City. Starbucks, too, recently started serving local beer and wine in some Seattle stores.
Now Sonic will serve beer and wine on a trial basis at select stores.
"I think if they start selling beer here it's going to be awesome because I'm going to be coming here every night,” said Nick Ault.
Sonic says alcohol will only be served for dine-in customers, not in the drive through. It will test the option in stories in Florida later this summer. Depending on the outcomes of the trial, the chain will then decide whether to branch out.
