Stephen Bernard Page Jr. arrested in Solomon Reese murder investigation
A second person has been arrested in the murder of a 71-year-old Southeast D.C. man, the case in which the first suspect escaped from police custody and remained at large for hours.
Police say that they arrested 18-year-old Stephen Bernard Page Jr. of Washington on Thursday. He has been charged with first-degree felony murder while armed.
Page is accused in the murder of 71-year-old Solomon Reese, who was shot and killed at his home in Southeast on June 27.
On July 14, police arrested James Adrian Brewer in connection with the shooting and charged him with first-degree murder.
Shortly before facing a judge, Brewer switched identification bracelets with another inmate and was released, sparking a manhunt that stretched from Philadelphia to Newport News, Va.
He was recaptured in the District the next day.
