A Pasadena, Md., man has been charged with first-degree murder for killing his wife, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police filed charges against Stephen Richard Salb, 56, of 7729 Jones Drive in Pasadena, alleging that he killed 38-year-old Jill Ann Salb early Wednesday morning.

Police were called shortly after 5 a.m. and found Jill Salb inside the home with injuries to her upper body. She was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 6 a.m. Salb’s daughter was also injured and taken to the hospital, but her injuries were non-life threatening, police said.

Stephen Salb was taken into custody on scene and charges were filed later Wednesday. Homicide detectives are investigating and said the crime is being treated as domestic-related.

In addition to first-degree murder, Stephen Salb is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. He is awaiting an initial appearance with the court commissioner.
