Two house fires in Montgomery County damage homes
July 24, 2011 - 07:48 pm
Two house fires broke out almost simultaneously in Montgomery County Sunday, leaving one house in ashes and one badly damaged.
A house on 28 Hickory Hill in Takoma Park was gutted by flames Sunday afternoon. The fire department received the call at about 5:45 p.m. Heavy fire engulfed the house’s attic, but no one was injured. The fire was out shortly before 7 p.m.
A second fire broke out in the 16000 block of Mustang Hill Way in the Quince Orchard portion of Gaithersburg. Two alarms were called and the house sustained significant damage, but no one was injured.
The Montgomery County fire department doesn’t believe there is any connection between the two fires. The second fire is under investigation.
