Two women stabbed near Rhode Island Avenue Metro
Two women were stabbed near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro station Wednesday evening.
Police confirm receiving a 911 call for two women suffering from stabbing wounds in the 600 block of Edgewood Street Northeast.
Police say a group of young women attacked another woman and started beating her.
One woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other victim was treated at the scene. Both were reportedly conscious and breathing when police arrived.
Female clothing and flip flops were strewn across the sidewalk.
Police closed off the area and searched the parking lot of a nearby Home Depot store. At least one young woman was taken to a local police station for questioning, ABC7’s John Gonzalez reports. She is not being called a suspect.
