Portion of University Boulevard closed by water main break
A portion of University Boulevard in Wheaton remains closed Saturday afternoon while WSSC crews continue to repair a broken water main.
The 14" main broke at about 8 a.m. and caused the closure of University between Amherst Avenue and Elkin Street. There is no estimated time of repair.
Water has been shut off to 43 customers in the area, most of them being businesses.
A break in a 16" water main earlier this week caused southbound Georgia Avenue to close between Randolph Road and Henderson Avenue for the better part of two days.
