Water main leak closes lanes of Maple Avenue in Vienna
A water main leak has closed the northeast lanes of Maple Avenue in Vienna.
The closures extends from Glengyle Drive to Nuttley Street. Traffic is being diverted as crews work to repair the ruptured pipe.
Town of Vienna spokesperson Kirstyn Barr says the town owns the main. She says crews were making a scheduled repair to a valve Monday night when they found a significant "water leak" underground.
Crews have shut off the water supply in the area, which will likely affect about 18 to 25 businesses, located between Nuttley Street and James Madison Drive, Barr says.
There's no word on how long the closures will last.
