Water main break in Southeast closes down lanes near Suitland Parkway

Two water mains broke in Southeast D.C. early Friday morning, leading to the partial lane closures of a roadway in the area.
One of the breaks occurred near in the 1800 block of Erie Street SE; the other near the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Stanton Road SE.
The following roads are shut down, according to DDOT:
-1800 block of Erie Street SE
-Northbound 18th Place at Erie Street
-Southbound 17th Place at Erie Street
-Eastbound Erie Street at 18th Place
There is no word as to when the breaks would be fixed or when the roads will be completely reopened.
An eyewitness on the scene tells ABC7 that they saw water bubbling last night and woke up this morning to a river in the roadway this morning.
