July 11, 2011 - 07:21 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. water authorities say an eastbound lane of Canal Road will be closed until September while they work to rehabilitate a 48-inch water main.
The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority says the first part of a two-phase project will begin Monday on Canal Road from MacArthur Boulevard/Foxhall Road to 35th Street in northwest Washington.
Officials say crews will be sealing joints on the water main from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The department says the work will continue through Sept. 1.
The second phase of the project will take place on M Street between 26th Street and New Hampshire Avenue.
