Weekend Metro work affects Red, Orange Lines
July 22, 2011 - 07:59 am
Another weekend of track work in the Metro rail system is causing delays on the Red and Orange Lines.
For the second consecutive weekend, service on the Orange Line will be suspended between East and West Falls Church while crews prepare tracks for the Dulles rail extension. Shuttles will run between the stations.
On the Red Line, single-tracking will occur between Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square. In addition to that, the north entrance for the Farragut North station, at L Street and Connecticut Avenue NW, will be closed.
Track work will also take place between Navy Yard and Anacostia on the Green Line, but no delays are expected.
All track work begins at 10 p.m. and concludes when the system shuts down on Sunday.
