Wine bloggers converge on Virginia
July 23, 2011 - 02:44 pm
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - More than 330 wine bloggers from throughout North America are in Charlottesville this weekend for their fourth annual conference.
It's the first time the conference has been held on the East Coast, and local and state officials are hoping it will bring more attention to Virginia's wine industry. The conference agenda includes a trip to Monticello and tours of 16 local wineries.
Annette Boyd, director of the Virginia Wine Board marketing office, tells the Daily Progress that the conference and blogging activity should have a big impact on how people see Virginia wines and bring people back in the years to come.
