Worker rescued after falling into trench in Laurel

A construction worker is hospitalized after being rescued from a trench in Laurel.
Authorities say the man was repairing a water line around 7 p.m. Tuesday when the 8-foot deep trench he was working in partially collapsed. A witness called 911, and rescuers pulled the man from the trench in about 30 minutes.
He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
