2 arrested in Kansas in Loudoun County carjacking
STERLING, Va. (AP) - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says two men wanted in connection with a carjacking and robbery in Sterling have been arrested in Kansas.
Deputies say on Friday, a woman was leaving a pharmacy in Sterling and carrying her toddler when a man held an unknown object to her neck and demanded money. The woman gave the robber her purse and he left the scene in her car.
Authorities say on Sunday, police in Garden City, Kansas, found the stolen vehicle and took the two occupants into custody.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jorge Alberto Castillo of Sterling has been charged with carjacking and abduction. Twenty-two-year-old Juan Pablo Portillo-Alvarenga of Sterling has been charged with receiving stolen property.
Virginia has authorized extradition of the two.
