Two people were injured after a van they allegedly stole crashed into a tree in Springfield. Two other people are in custody.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Monday, Fairfax County police saw a van traveling south on Backlick Road without its headlights on.
An officer attempted to make a traffic stop at which point the van sped off, leading the officer in a pursuit.
The van crashed in the woods near the 8700 block of Pohick Road shortly.
Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police determined the van had been stolen and all four occupants were taken into custody. Investigators are also trying to determine if other items in the vehicle were stolen.
