2 juveniles arrested in Frederick burglary, break-ins
Two of three juveniles have been arrested in connection with a string of break-ins in Frederick.
Frederick County police say the suspects are charged with five counts 2nd degree burglary, five counts 4th degree burglary, five counts conspiracy to commit 2nd degree burglary, five counts conspiracy to commit 4th degree burglary, one count theft under $1000 and one count conspiracy to commit theft under $1000.
Authorities responded to the 2100 block of Caisson Road about 12:23 a.m. Monday for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, a woman reported seeing three males leaving her garage. Shortly afterwards, officers caught one of the males who fled on foot. A second suspect was arrested about 2 hours later when his parents brought him to police station. A third suspect remains on the loose.
Authorities say one of the suspects had stolen property from at least one residence in his possession. An investigation later found that five other garages in the area had been tampered with by the suspects.
The suspects are being held at police headquarters. It’s unclear if they will be placed in a detention facility or released to parents. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possible.
Police say there may be other victims in the neighborhood, and they're asked to call police at 301-600-1217 or 301-600-2100.
