74 arrested in 12 hours in D.C. prostitution sting

A police operation that targeted prostitutes in the downtown D.C. area netted 74 arrests in a 12-hour period, police said.
At 6 a.m. Saturday, Metropolitan Police from several departments concluded operation "Off the Streets," a sting aimed at men and women engaged in various aspects of prostitution, police stated.
Police targeted street, hotel and internet crimes.
Support from citizens and several major hotel chains helped police in the operation.
