Baltimore Ravens open preseason against Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday
(AP, WJLA) After a long offseason that was made even longer by the NFL lockout, pro football has returned and the Baltimore Ravens preseason begins tonight.
The Ravens open their 2011 preseason schedule Thursday night as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. You can catch all the action LIVE on ABC7 starting at 7 p.m. with the pre-game show.
The Ravens will take the field with fairly new look, the Baltimore Sun says. Baltimore parted with tight end Todd Heap and wide receiver Derrick Mason earlier this month, two longtime members of the Ravens offense.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told the Sun that the offense has taken a few steps back during recent practices.
"It's going to be very interesting to see where we're at," Harbaugh told the Sun.
The Eagles, on the other hand, went on a spending spree after the lockout ended, bringing in numerous high-profile free agents, including star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and the rest of the starters are expected to play one quarter. Head Coach Andy Reid says he's going to play the first unit in the first quarter, the backups in the second and the third-string in the third with the rest of the players fighting for roster spots finishing up in the fourth.
