Beltsville fire was arson, investigators say

A fire in a Beltsville commercial building was intentionally set Monday morning, Prince George’s County Fire Investigators have determined.
The fire department said that firefighters were alerted to the fire at the Showcase Theatre just after 4 a.m. on Monday. Firefighters extinguished the fire at the building in the 11200 block of Old Baltimore Pike without incident.
Investigators have classified the fire as arson. The estimated fire loss at $25,000. Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about the person(s) responsible to come forward by calling the Arson Tip Line at 301-77-ARSON (27766).
