Charles White pleads guilty in connection with contracting case

A former D.C. schools staffer pleaded guilty Monday to charges stemming from a conflict of interest that involved accepting a $20,300 check.
Charles White, 38, pleaded guilty to supplementation of government salary. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 16 and faces up to five years in prison.
Authorities said White, a former senior management and program analyst with the grants office of the District of Columbia Public Schools, accepted a $20,300 check from the spouse of a friend whom White recommended receive a government contract.
