Crittenton in court for Atlanta murder case
August 31, 2011 - 06:13 am
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A former NBA player is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles court Wednesday for a hearing in connection with his arrest in a murder case in Atlanta.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller says Javaris Crittenton is being held on a state penal code violation of being a fugitive from justice. He was taken into custody Monday night at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.
Police in Atlanta had obtained a murder warrant for Crittenton in the Aug. 19 shooting of 22-year-old Jullian Jones, a mother of four young children, as she was walking with two men. Police believe one of the men with her was the target.
