David Twitty of Hyattsville pleads guilty to possessing, distributing child porn
A Hyattsville, Md., man pleaded guilty Wednesday to possessing and distributing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and the Special Agent in Charge William Winter announced.
The 64-year-old David B. Twitty admitted to using the screennames “perv62” and “perv63” to upload 91 images showing children engaged in sexually explicit conduct to a website where users trade those images.
After agents searched his residence, Twitty confessed that he had been trading child pornography for six to seen years. He said his collection included images showing bondage and sadomasochistic sexual abuse of children.
On the computers seized during their search, agents found over 42,000 images and about 670 videos showing children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Twitty faces a minimum mandatory sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison for distributing child pornography; and a maximum of 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography, followed by up to a lifetime of supervised release. District Judge Roger W. Titus has scheduled sentencing for November 7, 2011.
As part of his plea agreement, Twitty must register as a sex offender.
