August 7, 2011 - 07:23 am
A 29-year-old Manassas man died after he was tasered by Prince William county police who were trying to arrest him.
Police were called to the 11000 block of Hiram Court in Manassas shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday to help the fire department. Fire officials were treating a man police describe as “combative.”
Police tasered the man to try and arrest him. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died. Police are conducting a criminal and internal investigation, they said. The exact cause of death will be determined in an autopsy.
The man was identified as Debro Lamonte Wilkerson of Manassas.
