Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton to host job fair at D.C. convention center
WASHINGTON (AP) - Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton says her annual job fair will provide good opportunities for District of Columbia residents to get hired, despite the tough economy.
Norton's job fair is scheduled for Tuesday at the Washington Convention Center. More than 100 public and private employers with confirmed job openings are expected to participate.
Norton, who represents the district in Congress, says the event will include extra services to help residents get hired. Those include workshops on completing employment applications, tips on how to handle interviews and how to dress, and help editing cover letters and resumes.
Participants are asked to wear professional attire and bring copies of their resumes and proof that they live in the district.
