Gas leak in Northwest D.C. closes O, P, 1st Streets

A construction crew at a house hit a high-pressure gas line shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday, D.C. Fire states. A four-inch gas feeder line was struck.
Workers are trying to control the leak, but gas was still leaking over hour after the initial hit.
O Street, P Street, and 1st Street Northwest are closed. The area is cordoned off. Homes may be evacuated.
The gas company and a hazardous materials team from the fire department are on the scene.
