(WJLA, AP) -- The Georgetown Hoyas will complete the rest of their 10-day trip to China, the school announced Friday, the day after a wild brawl erupted between the Hoyas and Bayi Rockets during their game Thursday.

On Friday morning, Georgetown head coach John Thompson III and two of his players, senior Jason Clark and junior Hollis Thompson, met with Bayi head coach Adejiang. The school called it a cordial and amicable meeting, during which players and coaches discussed basketball and their families.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minsiter Cui Tiankai said Bayi members went to Beijing airport to see off the Georgetown team and the sides exchanged souvenirs.

"My understanding is that it's all cleared up," Cui told reporters at a briefing on Vice President Joe Biden's ongoing visit to China. "We're pleased about this outcome."

The team will continue their trip through China and will compete in the Nike Sports Festival in Shanghai this weekend. They'll play the Liaoning Dinosaurs on Sunday.

During the 4th quarter of their game on Thursday in Beijing, Georgetown and Bayi engaged in a melee during which the benches cleared. Shoves and punches were exchanged, players swung chairs at each other and fans rained bottles of water down on the Hoyas as they left the floor.

"Tonight, two great teams played a very competitive game that unfortunately ended after heated exchanges with both teams. We sincerely regret that this situation occurred," Georgetown head coach John Thompson III said after the game.
