A lifeguard in Anacostia was sexually assaulted at a pool along Columbia Pike last week. Authorities said a man came up behind the lifeguard, groped her breasts, said something obscene and then fled.

Now, police say it wasn’t an isolated incident. In fact, there have been seven reported sexual batteries throughout Arlington County – a man preying on lifeguards like those in the Fairlington area.

Police say it’s not just lifeguards who should be on the lookout. Even girls as young as 13 have reported being groped, some as they were walking home from school or standing at bus stops.

In each instance, the attacker grabs the victim from behind, which prevents the victims from getting a good look at the suspect.
