GW Parkway lanes to be closed for construction
August 22, 2011 - 10:10 pm
The right lanes on the northbound George Washington Memorial Parkway will be closed for construction between Spout Run Parkway and the first overlook on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
Lanes will be closed between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Currently there is no weekend work scheduled.
Crews will begin landslide repair work, install signage, shift the pavement markings and install barriers to repair landslide damage.
All lanes of the parkway will remain open during rush hours. During construction, one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
The planned completion date for all work is late spring 2012.
