Homeless man arrested for shooting Christopher Freeman

A homeless man was arrested in the Aug. 5 murder of Christopher Emanuel Freeman, D.C. police said.
James Fields was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with second-degree murder while armed. The 31-year-old is charged with shooting Freeman last Friday.
Police responded to the 300 block of 34th Street Southeast on Aug. 5 for the sound of gunshots. They found a male with a gunshot wound who was dead at the scene.
A second victim was also wounded and transported to an area hospital.
