Daybreak’s afternoon pop stroll includes Kate Perry gettin’ it done, Black Spiderman and some possible Amy Winehouse tunes on the horizon. That and more.

ON A SERIOUS ROLL: She could have been yours, Sesame Street. Per the L.A. Times, “Katy Perry continues her hit-filled year, as the singer has notched her fifth No. 1 single from the platinum-selling "Teenage Dream." With current single "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" set to hit the No. 1 spot on Billboard's pop chart, according to the Nielsen BDS-based pop radio-airplay ranking, the singer's sophomore effort is the first album in the more than 15-year history of the Adult Top 40 mainstream chart to log that many No. 1 singles.” http://lat.ms/orku7X

BLACK SPIDEY: Per the AP, “Peter Parker is dead and gone, but Spider-Man's still slinging webs and fighting crime. And it's not just a new teenager climbing Manhattan buildings, it's an entirely new crime-fighter, from the color of his suit to the complexion of his skin. Meet Miles Morales, a half-black, half-Hispanic American teenager who, inspired to do good after the death of Parker at the hands of the Green Goblin, takes flight and has his first fight in the pages of Marvel Comics' "Ultimate Fallout" No. 4, in comic shops on Wednesday.” http://apne.ws/osxf1p

J-LO ON NO-GO: Per Entertainment Weekly, “Jennifer Lopez has given her first post-divorce announcement interview to Vanity Fair, and in it, she made three things clear: She and Marc Anthony both wanted their marriage to work, it’s sad that it didn’t, and she hopes to find love again. “It’s still my biggest dream. I am positive — determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.” http://bit.ly/oMrbrp

KING OF BLOTTO: Per Us Weekly, “Kings of Leon fans were crestfallen on Monday when the band cancelled its entire U.S. tour. Although the band said that lead singer Caleb Followill was "suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion," an insider close to the Grammy winning trio tells Us Weekly the problem is deeper than that. "They are trying to get Caleb to go to rehab. It is mostly for alcohol," the source says. "[That's why] they ended up canceling the whole tour... he drinks like a fish." http://bit.ly/pkA2st

UN-RELEASED WINEHOUSE: Longtime Amy Winehouse co-collaborater Stefan Sharbek tells Rolling Stone there are songs he wrote with her that have yet to be released. They’re owned by Universal, and he says “. . . maybe some of the songs I’ve got will end up being released. Maybe not, I don’t know. But my biggest take on her is deep down she was a good person and she loved people. That’s something I don’t think anybody ever focused in on with her. The U.K. press is terrible for creating train wrecks, they love doing that.” http://bit.ly/q1GRhg

BIEBER ON BUD: Per MTV, “Over Memorial Day weekend, Sean Kingston was seriously injured in a headline-making jet-ski accident. In the months since the crash, the "Beautiful Girls" singer has been recovering in Miami, where he lives and where the accident took place. He's been getting help from pals like "Eenie Meenie" collaborator Justin Bieber, who said the recovering singer is doing much better. "His spirits are a lot higher," Bieber explained to MTV News in an interview that will air tonight (August 2) on "MTV First: Sean Kingston." http://on.mtv.com/oh6Ls2

GO-GO’S: No, the Bangles. No, rather, per The Independent, “Kelly Clarkson has formed a girl group, Already Famous, with her backing singers. The 'Because of You' singer has formed the vocal harmony band with her touring backup singers Jill and Kate and they have already started working on songs in the studio. Kelly tweeted: "I'm off to Oklahoma to record some songs with @jillandkate! I love random writing and recording with friends! (sic)” http://ind.pn/rgdYsQ

BEST ALT BETS: Per indieWIRE, “There’s a whopping 25 films listed on indieWIRE’s August calendar. POLITICO BLINK: “In case you were wondering, Cher says there's no way she'd ever vote for Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. The famous singer, gay advocate and longtime liberal tweeted on Sunday: “Just got spam letter from M. Bachman! My reply ! Woman go bake 2 school take history !” In the series of tweets – which included some name-calling and plenty of misspellings – Cher told Bachmann that she wouldn’t support her candidacy “if I was on my deathbed & your best friend was JESUS!!!” (Cher has been ranting about Bachmann and her husband on Twitter for a while now.)” http://politi.co/rgtucW

HE’S GONE: And never coming back, per Deadline, “. . .More information on the shrouded-in-secrecy ninth-season premiere of CBS' comedy Two and a Half Men, which will feature the debut of new star Ashton Kutcher and which I now hear will be a two-parter. I have been able to confirm that Charlie Sheen's character Charlie Harper is indeed dead and the season premiere will feature his funeral.” http://bit.ly/pAjnur
