Laurel prostitution sting nets 12 arrests
Howard County Police arrested 12 men in a prostitution solicitation sting in Laurel, their third such operation this year.
The arrests in this round of reverse prostitution operations brings the total number of people arrested in such cases to 29 in the calendar year.
During the operation, which took place last Thursday, female officers in plain clothes worked undercover in spots where residents complained of prostitution issues. Suspects who approached law enforcement officers and offered money for sex were arrested immediately.
The following 12 people were arrested and charged with solicitation:
-Saul Aragon-Perez, 34, of Laurel
-Jeffrey E. Carter, 52, of Alexandria
-David James Loyd, 46, of Laurel
-Adelmo Marchorro-Vanes, 32, of Randallstown, Md.
-Armando Martinez, 46, of Silver Spring
-Dijohn Verandyn McGruder, 49, of Edgewater, Md.
-Ricardo Melhado, 31, of Glen Burnie, Md.
-Lawrence Obi Ngashu, 35, of Montgomery Village
-Earl Warren Richards, of Capitol Heights
-William Harald Riley Sr., 44, of Laurel
-Juan Hector Saco, 43, of Columbia
-Manuel Sazo-Zepede, 27, of Columbia
In 2010, 76 people were arrested in six of these operations.
