Lisa Proctor, Chernica Boyland killed in St. Mary's County car crash
Police in St. Mary's County are looking into what caused a Thursday night car accident that killed two 22-year-old women.
Authorities say the accident occurred at about 6:50 p.m. in the area of Point Lookout Road and Chingville Road. The investigation revealed that a Chevrolet driven by 34-year-old Robert Rice Jr., of Great Mills, Md., was going northbound on Point Lookout Road when it rear ended a Toyota driven by Dyhalma Trudell, 54, of Leonardtown.
Because of the collision, the Chevrolet careened across the center line and struck another vehicle carrying 22-year-old Lisa Proctor of Leonardtown and 22-year-old Chernica Boyland of Lexington Park. Both Proctor and Boyland were pronounced dead at the scene.
Rice and Trudell were taken to Prince George's Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said Rice struck another vehicle just before the fatal crash at Point Lookout and Piney Point roads.
