Man arrested in Germantown shooting
A man was arrested and charged with a weekend shooting at a gas station in Germantown, police said Monday.
Dmytro Solomatin, 26, of the 2300 block of Free Town Court in Reston, Va. was charged with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment.
On Saturday at 5:53 p.m., Montgomery County Police responded to a shooting at the Freestate gas station at 20650 Frederick Road.
According to investigations, Solomatin and a 38-year-old man got into a fight while pumping gas. Solomatin went to a vehicle to get a gun and shot at the man. He missed, but hit the man's vehicle which was occupied by the man's fiance, police said.
Solomatin then fled the scene. An hour later, he turned himself in to Fifth District police.
He is being held on $750,000 bond. A bond review hearing is slated for Monday at the Rockville District Court.
