Man robbed of medication in Fredericksburg home-invasion
Police are looking for three attackers who beat and robbed a man at his home in Fredericksburg on Monday.
About 5:45 p.m., a man answered a knock on his door in the 300 block Altoona Drive. Three men pushed their way inside and demanded money and medicine. One man had a gun and another had a collapsible baton which he used to hit the man repeatedly until the victim relented and gave the attackers money and drugs.
A woman who lived at the home heard the commotion and called police.
The men then fled the scene in a white sport utility vehicle. A neighbor saw the SUV leave and wrote down a partial license plate number.
The man had numerous bruises but was treated and released at home.
According to the Free-Lance Star, the man, who is in his early 40s, is in the latter stages of cancer.
No one was in custody a of Tuesday afternoon.
