Manassas mom charged with child abuse again
August 6, 2011 - 10:05 pm
MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - Manassas police have charged a woman with taping an infant's mouth shut to stop the girl from crying.
The News & Messenger reports that two witnesses, one of them a relative of the child, reported the incident to police Wednesday. They said Kristine Leigh Moore had taped the girl's mouth shut July 30.
Manassas police Sgt. Eddie Rivera says Moore was charged with felony child abuse. He did not know the child's age or what type of tape was used.
Last August the 52-year-old Moore and her boyfriend, Franklin Lewis Johnson, were charged with child neglect and other charges after police alleged the two had been providing Johnson's 15-year-old daughter with marijuana since she was 10 years old.
