Media critic Jack Shafer laid off

Slate has laid off its well-respected media critic Jack Shafer, reports Adweek.

“We have made some editorial changes, including a small reduction in our full time staff and our contractors,” editor David Plotz told Adweek.

Shafer held the position of editor-at-large. He wrote the Press Box column for Slate.
