Passenger killed in Va. Interstate pursuit, shooting
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Interstate 264 that occurred after someone in a car that was following four men in a Ford Explorer opened fire on them.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya told The Virginian-Pilot that the shooting happened early Saturday morning on eastbound I-264 in Norfolk.
The men in the Explorer then exited onto Military Highway and stopped at a gas station. Anaya said backseat passenger 33-year-old Timothy Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are trying to determine where the pursuit started and what led to the shooting.
