Roderick Ridley sentenced to 74 years in connection with 2008 slaying
A 34-year-old man was sentenced to 74 years in connection with the murder of a woman in SW D.C.
A D.C. Superior Court judge sentenced Roderick Ridley, of the District, on Monday to 74 years after a jury convicted him of multiple counts of felony threats, contempt, first degree burglary and other charges.
But the jury didn’t convict of felony murder, premeditated murder and another count of threats stemming from the killing of 33-year-old Tiffany Gates.
He faces a retrial on those charges.
Authorities said Ridley stabbed Gates to death because of a domestic situation.
