School closures in Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Howard
Here is a list of local school closures, as of 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Please check the list here for updates.
Power has been restored Wednesday morning to all schools in Prince George’s County except for one.
School officials say Glenarden Woods ES will remain closed today due to a power outage.
Students who attend Heather Hills ES, Rockledge ES and Tall Oaks Vocational HS should arrive on time. Updates will be posted via www.pgcps.org and (301-952-6000). All other schools will also open on time.
In D.C., Backus MS and the School Without Walls will reopen Wednesday, Aug. 31. All University of the District of Columbia locations are open too. The schools were closed following the earthquake.
All Howard County public schools have power except for three: Atholton High School, Glenelg High School and Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School. The most current information can be found on the school system's website or by calling 410.313.6600 or 6666.

Arnold Elementary
Cape St. Claire Elementary
Carrie Weedon Science Ctr.
Chesapeake Science Point
Crofton Woods Elementary
Eastport Elementary
Four Seasons Elementary
Glen Burnie Park Elementary
Marley Glen Special School
Maryland City Elementary
Overlook Elementary
Shady Side Elementary
Solley Elementary
In Howard County, only three schools are still without power and will be closed.

• Glenelg High School
• Triadelphia Ridge ElementarySchool
Athletic practices will be held at all high schools, even if the school is closed due to a power outage, the county said.
