Serious crash on I-270 closes local lanes

Montgomery County Fire reports a vehicle that crashed into a jersey wall on northbound Interstate 270, seriously injuring four people, has shut down all local lanes.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred around 6:12 a.m. Wednesday near the merge point from the local lanes to the thru lanes, just past Shady Grove Road.
Four people were transported to local trauma centers with serious and life-threatening injuries. Two of them were thrown from the vehicle, Maryland State Police say.
All local lanes are closed, but vehicles are able to merge onto the thru lanes.
The closure is expected to last for a while.
