Warren Weinstein kidnapped: Sketch released of American's suspected kidnapper
August 18, 2011 - 02:21 pm
ISLAMABAD (AP) - Pakistani media say police have released a sketch of a potential suspect in the kidnapping of an American.
Warren Weinstein was abducted Saturday after gunmen broke into his home in the eastern city of Lahore. The 70-year-old works for J.E. Austin Associates, a U.S.-based firm that has advised a range of Pakistani business and government sectors.
The black-and-white sketch that aired Thursday on Pakistani television channels shows a young man with short dark hair and a stubby beard.
Kidnappings are common in Pakistan, with foreigners being occasional targets. Criminal gangs are suspected in most abductions, but militants are also believed to use the tactic.
