Washington Redskins: John Beck, Rex Grossman sharing duties
The Redskins quarterback plan heading into Thursday night's game at Baltimore will be “two series on, two series off” for John Beck and Rex Grossman, ESPN’s Ron Jaworski tells ABC7’s Tim Brant.
Both Beck and Grossman are competing for the starting quarterback position.
Head Coach Mike Shanahan has not announced which quarterback will start.
Shanahan also has said that he doesn't plan on naming a starting quarterback for the Sept. 11 season opener against the New York Giants until a few days before the game.
In the Redskins 16-3 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 19, Beck went 14/17 for 140 yards, while Grossman threw for 88 yards and an interception in relief.
A week earlier, Grossman started in the Redskins preseason opener against Pittsburgh. He completed 19 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in a 16-7 win at FedEx Field.
