A ruptured water main that created a gaping sinkhole in Upper Marlboro is repaired and at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday South Osborne Road was reopened.
WSSC workers restored water service to the 33 households that experienced service disruptions due to the break, but crews are still working on the roadway and they hope to have the roadway reopened by later today.
A car fell into the hole in the 6900 block and was towed from the scene, but no injuries were reported, WSSC officials say. The sink hole is about seven feet deep, 15 to 18 feet long and about 10 feet wide.
