Weekend Metro work planned on Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow lines
(WJLA, AP) - Maintenance work on four of Metro's five lines will cause delays of up to 20 minutes for travelers this weekend.
Track work begins Friday at 10 p.m. On the red, blue, orange and yellow lines, trains will share one track on various parts of the lines, leading to delays of up to 20 minutes.
Metro says it will be doing the work to make a smoother ride for customers, as well as to repair platforms and upgrade stations.
Delays will affect each line in the following places:
-On the Red line, trains will single-track in two spots: between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook, and between Takoma and Forest Glen.
-On the Blue/Orange line in D.C., trains will share a track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory.
-On the Orange line in Virginia, trains will single-track between Vienna-Fairfax/GMU and West Falls Church.
-On the Yellow line, trains will share a track on the Potomac River bridge that connects Pentagon and L'Enfant Plaza.
