On August 16, 1977, 34 years ago Tuesday, the man who redefined an entire genre of music passed away.

Elvis Presley, known simply as "The King," revolutionized rock and roll to an entire generation. His career spanned several decades and included 10 records that reached #1 on the charts, 18 #1 singles, dozens of movie appearances, a stint in the U.S. Army and one of the most watched televised concerts in history.

His legend lives on still to this day. His music still touches millions of people around the world and, of course, random reports of Elvis sightings still occur.

Fans converged on Graceland to celebrate and remember Presley on Monday and Tuesday, and we asked our ABC7 fans on Facebook to reminisce on their favorite Elvis tunes.

There are plenty of favorites to choose from, but one that was mentioned often was his 1957 hit, Jailhouse Rock.

"Jailhouse Rock! Love that song!" Facebook fan Tiffany Ferguson said.

Presley was also known for his love ballads, including Can't Help Falling In Love and Love Me Tender.

"Can't Help Falling In Love is only one," Diane Smith said on our Facebook page. "There are many more."

Other Elvis hits that were named as favorites include Suspicious Minds, Hound Dog and Burning Love.

"It's so hard to choose because he was amazing!" Facebook fan Jennifer Sanson says.

Lest we forget Presley's illustrious movie career, as well.

"Where is the movie marathon?" Donna Hayes-Wester asks. "I'd love to veg out and watch Elvis all day."
