Montgomery County Police say a woman was raped after exiting her car early Friday morning in Olney.

A 22-year-old woman was getting out of a car near Wagon Wheel Court at 1:11 a.m. when she was sexually assaulted, police said.

Her attacker grabbed her around the neck, forced her to walk to a park and raped her.

No weapon was involved and police say the woman did not know her attacker.

"I used to play at that park," said Taylor Trombley, a neighbor.

"That's really surprising,” said neighbor Kathleen Gomez, “That really caught me off guard. " She said that she has lived in the area all her life. She can’t recall hearing about a similar crime in that time.

Police, too, say it’s unusual for a rape to happen in this area of Montgomery County.

The attacker is described as a black man in his 20’s, 5-foot-8, with a thin build. He used a piece of clothing to cover his hair and face, police said.
