D.C. police say a woman’s body has been found near the Old Post Office Pavilion.

The discovery was made at 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW on Monday.

The victim has been identified as 56 year-old Barbara Lloyd of Baltimore, Md.

A Segway tour company had to cancel its 10 a.m. session because authorities had blocked the area and a worker with the IRS, which is next door, was shocked to hear about the incident.

“This is just unbelievable,” said Joan Wooley.

Police said they got the call around 6:25 a.m. The person on the other end said a woman was unconscious near the steps of the old post office.

Police sources said that the woman had been stabbed multiple times. Sources said she died on the scene but it’s unclear how long the victim had been there.
